New SILS Intern in Sloane Art Library

Patrick L. Tomlin is the new SILS intern (CALA—Carolina Library Associate) in the Sloane Art Library.  A graduate of the University of Alabama, he comes to UNC with an M.A .in Art History from Florida State (“Modernism and Mass Culture: the Early Photography of Paul Outerbridge,”) and is completing his dissertation (Northwestern) “Arthur Dove: Early Twentieth Century Modernism and the United States.”

Patrick has also been an adjunct lecturer on American art and other fields at Northwestern, curatorial assistant at the Ringling Museum of Art and the Huntsville Museum of Art, curated exhibitions, delivered papers, published essays in scholarly journals, and received numerous awards, including the CALA.  His goal is a career in academic art librarianship. We are delighted that Patrick has joined us and we invite you to stop by to meet him!
