Intercontinental Relief Printing—Beijing and Chapel Hill: Art 81, Fall, 2004

No previous printmaking experience required!

A special opportunity to work with  Zheng Xuewu, a well-known and much-exhibited Chinese artist whose work explores both the medium and meanings of print.  This studio art course will be organized as a communal print shop and forum of open exchange.  Working with our guest printmaker, the class will produce a large-scale public work of art.  While producing that work, students will explore a variety of printmaking processes and consider the history of print in both Asia and Europe.  This course is an exciting and unique opportunity to think through cultural collaboration within the context of contemporary art practice.
