Dr. Lyneise Williams joins the Art Department as a Post Doctoral Fellow
for 2004-2006. Williams received her Ph.D. in Art History from
Yale University (2004) and specializes in art of the African diaspora,
African Art, African-American Art, Latin American Art, and Museum
Studies. Her publications include: Jean-Michel Basquiat: Not Just Another Dipped Barbie (Cultura Visual, 2000) and Traveling Concepts: Making and Remaking Culture (catalogue essay in Call and Response: Journeys of African Art, 2000). Dr. Williams will be pursuing her research while in Chapel Hill.
