Search Tips

In general, the search engine will find items that match ALL of the terms you enter.

Searches are case-insensitive, meaning that it does not matter whether words are spelled using capitalization or not. For example, searching for "PAINTING" is equivalent to searching for "painting".

Many common words are not searchable on the website, and will be ignored. This list includes words like "at", "the", "of", etc. If a query only contains common words, the search engine will not find any matches.

The terms "and", "or", and "not" may be used between keywords to form more complex queries. For example, searching for "painting and sculpture" would return results that have both the terms "painting" and "sculpture" in them. Searching for "painting or sculpture" would return pages that have either "painting" or "sculpture" in them. Searching for "painting and not sculpture" would return pages that have "painting" in them, but not have "sculpture" in them.

Note that the "not" keyword can only be used in "and" expressions. It is not valid to search on "not painting" or "painting or not sculpture".

You can can use an asterisk as a wildcard. For example, "paint*" will match "paint", "paints", "painting", "painted", etc. If an asterisk is not used, word matches will be exact.
