The Electronic Media Studio supports work in video, sound, interactivity, and print. The facility contains ten Macintosh G4 computers as well as various peripherals and production equipment. The studio uses a wide range of software, including Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro, Max, Director, Pro Tools, Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, After Effects, Illustrator, and a variety of support software. Production equipment is also available through the Office of Arts and Sciences Information Services (OASIS).

Undergraduates who have taken Electronic Media (ART 106) or who are working on a project that requires use of the Electronic Media Studio may use the facility. Students who wish to use the lab to work on projects must be under the supervision of a Department of Art faculty member. Graduate students who have demonstrated competency may also use the facility.

To request access to the Electronic Media Studio, students should submit a short proposal describing their project to Susan Harbage Page at susanharbagepage@gmail.com. The proposal must include the signature of the supervising faculty member.

For detailed instructions on using the Electronic Media Studio computers, visit http://www.unc.edu/~arboone/ems/.
